Fire Permits
Safety is our #1 priority. To keep residents safe, we require permits -- all of which can be applied for online -- for the following:
Compressed Gases ($25)
A permit is required to store, use or handle at normal temperature and pressure compressed gases. Partially full compressed gas containers, cylinders or tanks containing residual gases shall be considered as full for the purposes of the controls required (105.6.9). Click to apply.
Dry Cleaning Business ($25)
A permit is required to engage in the business of dry cleaning or to change to a more hazardous cleaning solvent used in existing dry cleaning equipment (105.6.13). Click to apply.
Fireworks ($25)
A permit is required for manufacturing, processing or storage of explosive materials (105.6.38). Click to apply.
Flammable and Combustible Liquids ($25)
A permit is required for the storage, handling, or use of flammable and combustible liquids. Click to apply.
Hazardous Materials ($25)
A permit is required store, transport on site, dispense, use or handle hazardous materials in excess of the amounts listed in table (105.6.21). Click to apply.
Hot Work (Welding/Cutting)
A permit is required for any welding, cutting, and brazing, soldering, grinding, or torch work (105.6.24). A hot work certificate is needed to apply for a permit. Visit Hot Work Permit for more information.
Hydrant ($100 deposit/$75 refunded following use)
A permit is required for any use other than firefighting or annual flushing and pumping (105.6.16). Click to apply.
LPG-Propane (Food Truck) ($25)
A permit is required to store or use propane (105.6.28). Click to apply.
Open Burning/Bonfires (no charge)
A permit is required for the kindling or maintaining of an open fire, recreational fire or a fire on any public street, alley, road, or other public or private ground (105.6.32). View permit requirements. Click to apply.
Place of Assembly ($25)
A permit is required for premises where 75 or more members of the public gather indoors or 200 or more gather outdoors for religious, recreational, educational, political or social purposes (105.6.36). Click to apply.
Propane Exchange Station/Facility ($50)
A permit is required to store, handle or use LPG in quantities exceeding 400 standard cubic feet (105.6.28). View permit requirements. Click to apply.
Tents, Canopies, and Other Air Supported Structures ($25.75)
A permit is required for any tent, membrane structure and temporary stage canopies of 400 square feet and larger (105.6.28). View permit requirements. Note: Typically, the tent rental company will submit the permit application. Click to apply.
Vehicle Service Station ($25)
A permit is required for operation of repair garages and automotive, marine and fleet motor dispensing facilities (105.6.41). Click to apply.
