Severe winter weather is in the forecast for Shaker Heights. Please note these reminders:

Power outages

Report outages to First Energy by calling 888-544-4877; texting OUT to 544487; or visiting firstenergycorp.com.

Warming center

Residents in need of a warming center should call 9-1-1. The Shaker Heights Fire Dept. will facilitate your request.

Snow parking ban

There is no parking on residential streets when snow exceeds two inches. This allows our crews to safely and efficiently plow roadways.

City snow removal policies

The City plows roads in the following order: Major roads; secondary roads and roads around schools; residential side streets. If snow exceeds six inches, the City will plow sidewalks but with 200 lane miles of sidewalk in Shaker Heights, this process takes time. 

Road salt shortage

Northeast Ohio is experiencing a road salt shortage, which is also impacting Shaker Heights. To conserve salt, crews are only salting major roads, secondary intersections and hills. Please use caution on neighborhood streets.
