Gridley Triangle Park
Aptly named for it's location between the intersections of Lomond Boulevard, Sherrington Road, and Gridley Road, Gridley Triangle Park is situated in the Lomond neighborhood just a few blocks away from Lomond Elementary School. Though the footprint of Gridley Triangle Park is modest, there's plenty of places to gather and play within its borders. The large open green space along the southern edge of the park is perfect for neighborhood games of tag, and has served as the location for past #ShakerPlays yoga in the park sessions. There's also a number of picnic tables centrally located in the park that are ideal for a small family gatherings. Don't forget to bring your chess or checkers pieces to the park to enjoy our game table! The park also includes a natural play area, benches, and paved sidewalks and paths. Lastly, there's a Little Free Library located in the southeast corner of the park that is maintained by neighborhood residents. Explore all that Gridley Triangle Park has to offer and be on the lookout for one of the three Explore Shaker tokens that we have hidden amongst its amenities.
Many of the recreational amenities that were mentioned above are the product of improvements made to Gridley Triangle Park between 2010 and 2012 in accordance with the Gridley Triangle Conceptual Master Plan. The Gridley Triangle Park improvements were spearheaded by a dedicated, grassroots resident effort. The Lomond Association applied for and received a grant from the Fund for the Future to prepare a plan and cost estimate for improvements to the park, and numerous public meetings throughout the process allowed residents to provide comments and feedback. As we approach nearly a decade since these improvements have been made, it's easy to see how Gridley Triangle Park remains a hub for neighborhood activity within Lomond. We appreciate the hard work of the residents who advocated for these improvements, and hope that they continue to serve generations to come.
