Total Solar Eclipse Watch Party: Planetarium in the Park
Monday, April 8, 1-4 pm
Location: Thornton Park (3301 Warrensville Center Rd.)
We are counting down the days until the Total Solar Eclipse! Shaker Heights Recreation Department is partnering with Shaker Library for this ‘watch party’ of the April 8 Total Solar Eclipse, and Shaker residents are invited to celebrate at Thornton Park. Bring a blanket or towel, find a spot on the Sledding Hill, and enjoy relaxing ‘planetarium-style’ ambient electronic music during this otherworldly occasion! For kids & families, stop by the Shaker Recreation ‘Cosmic Craft’ Station, Shaker Library’s Activities & Book Giveaway, and Shaker Historical Society’s Coloring Corner! Food will also be available from the Squash the Beef and The Sweet Suite 216 food trucks.
Free eclipse glasses will be available for all attendees at the watch party while supplies last.
The Farnsleigh Lot at Thornton will be closed to vehicular traffic; we ask all attendees to park in the Warrensville Center Lot, walk, bike or use public transport if possible.
