[ARCHIVED] Cuyahoga County launches 2024 Reappraisal process

Community Advisory graphic for City of Shaker Heights

The Cuyahoga County Fiscal Officer has notified the City that it will start the 2024 Reappraisal process in the coming weeks. Appraisers will be reviewing all residential and commercial properties in Shaker Heights. Appraisers will have county-issued picture IDs. In addition, there will be signs in the front and rear windows of appraisers' vehicles.

Ohio law requires counties to update or reappraise the value of all properties within their borders every three and six years. The six year -- or sexennial -- reappraisal is a full reappraisal in which licensed appraisers inspect the exterior of properties in person. This is the year for Cuyahoga County to undertake the sexennial reappraisal, which is anticipated to take 2-4 weeks in Shaker Heights.
