On Saturday, February 3, 2024 at approximately 6:18 pm, a 19-year-old Shaker Heights woman came into the station and reported an unknown man, wearing dark clothing and a mask, approached her minor siblings earlier in the day and offered them candy while they were playing in the outdoor recreation area of Shaker Heights Family Center, located at 19824 Sussex Road. The woman reported her siblings declined the man’s offer, immediately returned to where she was waiting, and expressed concern about the interaction. The woman went to see if she could speak with the man, but could not catch up to him before seeing him leave in a white van with a ladder affixed to it.
The Shaker Heights Police would like to talk with the man who was described as an African American male with a medium to dark complexion and in his late 30s or early 40s. The man would have been at Shaker Heights Family Center between 3 pm and 5 pm on Saturday, February 3. Anyone who has information, please call the Shaker Heights Police Department at (216) 491-1278.
